HyroTrader rules, explained exactly

Every rule below is taken from HyroTrader's own FAQ, linked, and dated. Where the firm doesn't say something, we tell you instead of guessing. HyroTrader changed its daily drawdown on 14 October 2026 — this page was updated the same day.

Changed on 14 October 2026: daily drawdown is now static

“HyroTrader's daily drawdown trails your intraday peak.”

That was true until 14 October 2026. Every new challenge now uses a static daily floor: start-of-day equity minus a fixed share of the initial balance — Zero-Step 3%, One-Step 4%, Two-Step 5%. Reset at 00:00 UTC, same limit in every phase including funded.

A winning morning no longer raises your floor. The exception: legacy CLEO challenges were not migrated and still trail — open a support ticket to move them. HyroTrader's own example:

One-Step, $5,000 account$200daily limit (4% of initial)
Equity at 00:00 UTC$4,900open P&L included
Breach at$4,700equity below, any time

Daily drawdown sizeZero-Step 3%, One-Step 4%, Two-Step 5% of the initial account size. The dollar amount never changes day to day. Same limit in every phase, including funded.OfficialFAQ
Daily floor (since 14 Oct 2026)Static: start-of-day equity (00:00 UTC, open P&L included) minus the limit. Profits during the day don't move it. Breach when equity falls below the floor at any point.OfficialFAQ
Legacy trailing drawdownChallenges bought before 14 Oct 2026 on CLEO were not migrated: their floor still trails the intraday equity peak. HyroTrader says to open a support ticket to move to static.Email onlyHyroTrader email, 14 Oct 2026; no longer in the FAQ
Swing upgradePreviously a paid add-on; static is now the default, so the upgrade is moot for new challenges. The old balance-vs-equity contradiction is gone: the FAQ now says equity.ResolvedFAQ
Daily reset time00:00 UTC — now stated explicitly (the old FAQ only said “at UTC”).OfficialFAQ
How often it's checkedThe new FAQ says a breach happens if equity falls below the floor “at any point”; the old text said checks run “multiple times over a day”. Treat it as continuous.Wording changedFAQ

Four things traders miss

Check which drawdown your challenge runs on.

Bought on CLEO before 14 Oct 2026? Your floor still trails your intraday peak, and a winning morning followed by a give-back can breach you while you are still green. Ask support to migrate.

Open positions at midnight set tomorrow's floor.

The base is equity at 00:00 UTC, open P&L included. A position deep in the red at midnight lowers your starting point — and the floor with it.

The 3% per-trade rule is stricter than the daily limit.

On a $100,000 account, one trade closed at −$3,001 is a violation, even with $1,999 of daily room left. Size every stop below 3% of the initial balance.

Funded accounts add two new limits.

25% margin and 2× notional apply only after you pass. A position size that was fine in the evaluation can break a funded rule.

Change log

14 Oct 2026 — HyroTrader made static daily drawdown the default on all new challenges (email to traders; FAQ rewritten the same day). Daily floor = start-of-day equity − initial balance × 3% (Zero-Step) / 4% (One-Step) / 5% (Two-Step); reset 00:00 UTC now explicit; the Swing upgrade and the balance-vs-equity contradiction are gone. Legacy CLEO challenges still trail until migrated by support. New open question: Zero-Step maximum loss.

1 Oct 2026 — First check. Confirmed: trailing daily drawdown from the intraday equity peak, 3% per-trade rule, stop-loss not mandatory, funded exposure limits. Open questions sent to HyroTrader: exact reset hour, Swing base (equity vs balance), maximum loss wording.
