Propr rules, explained exactly

Every rule below comes from Propr's official rulebook (v1.0.5), linked by section and dated. Propr changed its daily-loss rule three times in 2026, so the version matters.

Last checked against propr.xyz/rules: 12 October 2026

The rule that changed three times this year

“The daily loss limit is 3% of your equity at midnight.”

Since 27 July 2026 (v1.0.5): the limit is 3% (1-Step) or 5% (2-Step) of your start-of-day balance — realized P&L only. The breach is checked on equity, open P&L included, with no grace period.

So if you hold a position through 00:00 UTC, the snapshot ignores its floating P&L. A position that is +$2,000 open at midnight gives you no extra room; a position that is −$2,000 open at midnight already eats into the new day's room. Propr's own example:

Start-of-day balance$100,0005% on 2-Step
Daily limit$5,0003% would be $3,000
Breach at$95,000equity, even for a moment

Daily loss size3% (all 1-Step types) or 5% (2-Step) of the balance snapshot at 00:00 UTC. Shrinks when you lose, grows when you bank profit.Official§06
Daily breach checkOn equity, floating P&L and fees included. A momentary touch of the floor ends the account.Official§06, §08
Reset time00:00 UTC, stated explicitly.Official§06
Max drawdown, 1-StepStatic floor below the starting balance: Classic 6%, Turbo 3%, Pro 5%. Never moves, however high the account grows.Official§07
Max drawdown, 2-StepTrailing: HWM minus 8% of the starting balance. HWM includes floating peaks. The floor stops rising once it reaches the starting balance; a payout resets HWM to the starting balance.Official§07
Profit targetEquity-based: an open position in profit counts. No time limit, no minimum days, can pass in one trade.Official§09
Leverage capsBTC/ETH/SOL 10x, other crypto 2x, applied automatically. The rulebook's infographic shows “BTC & ETH 5x” while its tables say 10x.Page contradicts itself§12
Stop-lossNot required. No risk-per-trade rule, no consistency rule, no anti-gambling rule.Official§14
Bots and copy tradingAutomated trading permitted. Copy trading between your own Propr accounts permitted; opposite hedging across accounts or against an external exchange is prohibited.Official§14, §15
Hedging scope (§15 item 5)Propr's Discord support bot says item 5 covers only the same instrument and intentional hedging — not merely correlated coins. Not confirmed by Propr staff; other firms (Velotrade, Kraken/Breakout) ban correlated hedges too.Unofficial answerDiscord support bot, Oct 2026
Account cyclingBuying evaluations repeatedly to take max-risk binary bets is listed as prohibited “farming”. How this is judged is not defined.Vague§15
Payouts80% split, on demand, minimum $20, USDC within 24h, full sweep only, all positions closed first. Balance and drawdown limits reset after each payout.Official§11
ExecutionHybrid A-book / B-book at Propr's discretion; every trade is labeled. On B-booked trades Propr's profit is the inverse of yours — stated openly.Official§19
Aggregate limitUp to $300,000 funded balance across all your accounts.Official§17

Three things traders miss

Holding through midnight changes your room.

The snapshot is balance, not equity. A losing open position at 00:00 UTC starts the new day already inside the limit; a winning one adds nothing until you close it.

A full sweep resets everything — including room.

After a payout your balance returns to the starting figure, so tomorrow's daily limit is the smallest it can be and the 2-Step floor drops back to −8%.

Floating profit raises the 2-Step floor for good.

A brief spike to +$5,000 on an open trade lifts the HWM permanently. Give it back and your floor is $5,000 closer than it was this morning.

Change log

12 Oct 2026 — First check against rulebook v1.0.5. Confirmed daily loss from start-of-day balance (changed 27 Jul 2026), equity-based breach, static vs trailing drawdown, HWM cap at starting balance, $20 minimum payout (was $50 at launch). Found an internal contradiction on BTC/ETH leverage (10x in tables, 5x in the infographic) — question sent to Propr.
